That tingly feeling....

Just back from exploring the Kimberley region of Western Australia, and this stands out as a highlight of our adventure.

Anyone had anything like this happen?
We visited a Buddhist Sanctuary at Cable Beach Club Resort in Broome, W.A. just a few days ago.
Buddha Sanctuary
There's a curious energy about the place. A member of our convoy took us there on our last day. As we walked up my senses picked up a strong presence or energy surrounding the entrance, and while the others walked in with their shoes on, there was no way I could walk in without removing them. We've visited many temples, shrines, etc in our travels and most require you to leave your shoes at the door, but I have never experienced this energy before.
There was something I can only describe as a welcoming 'wall' of energy at the door: I couldn't see it, but it was there. I couldn't bring myself to enter, until I'd removed my shoes. And having done that, that 'resistance' faded, well more like being able to flow through me rather than being blocked. I followed my companions into the large hall which opened out onto the courtyard and timber decking. Then as we walked into that courtyard and approached the statue, my fingers started tingling. That spread to my hands, then all through my arms. They felt warm, and full of pulsing energy. Gee, I was just not prepared for that. I asked our lady guide to feel my hands and when she did, hers in comparison felt to be icy cold. Weird feeling.

She's mixed race descent (Aboriginal/European) and quite intuitive. And told me I was receiving the energy of the place. It was strongest up by the statue where my arms felt hot and pulsing.
So she said to have a talk with the lady that looks after the centre, who said it was nothing unusual as many experience it, some so strong they cry. Apparently the spiritual leader had recently revisited the centre to 'recharge' the place.
It's something I was quite unprepared for. But they have links with sites back in NZ so may go seek it out and see where it takes me, being better psychologically prepared. It was a wonderful feeling as if my hands and arms were charging and flowing with energy.
And now everytime I think about it, some of that feeling comes back.

Cool! As I do energy work, I've experienced this many, many times, but sometimes when it happens it is very unexpected. For me, the vibration equates to color, and I use the color to do healing work. You may want to investigate whether or not you are being called to work with some form of energetic healing.

That thought had never occurred Barbara. Not sure it is really me, being able to transmit that energy. I felt I was more receiving it. When we chatted to the sanctuary supervisor, I suppose you may call her, she said their spiritual leader had just been through. She said many people feel the energy far stronger than I . So yes, I will explore it more given the chance.

What an interesting experience. In Macleod Ganj the energy is very calm and harmonious despite the heavy noise from the out side noises.

There are places that have what I call the "spirit of Place"..an energy, that if you are in the state of receiving..you can pick up on that flow. I have also felt this in my travels..at those sacred places. I felt it very strongly at Stonehenge..I knew where the energy lines openend and had the most powerful energetic pull and feel. The energy does affect you and could also have healing effects..hence the heat in your hands. I have felt this...so can relate Jim...it is great to be back from vacation and visiting your blog again...getting to travel with you through your stories and photo's...

The need to remove your shoes before entering and mixing it with the energy you were feeling, from reading your post it seems like you embraced it all but at any point were you afraid?

Not afraid Debbie, perplexed perhaps. But not afraid. In fact it was a warm soothing feeling. It is interesting that when I walked up to the entrance and sensed the energy, it seemed to feel like a wall that I couldn't penetrate, a point I couldn't go past. But when I removed my shoes the resistance lessened and I guess saying it seemed to flow would be best way of describing it.And walking around it seemed to be strongest in my fingers, growing in my hands then in my forearms then right up my arms. So I guess the energy was entering my hands and able to flow right through once shoes were off. I suppose just the way rubber insulates against electricity my shoes blocked the flow at the door.

I also remember feeling it for 3 weeks later when thinking about it, but it lessened then disappeared completely.
