World's Largest Quartz Crystal! : Travel Photo Thursday.

How would you like this crystal on your finger?!

One huge piece of Quartz...well a cluster of crystals really, but that is so impressive to see up close.
Until you wander through all the huge, well laid out and very impressive collections at The Crystal Gallery in Swakopmund, you will not fully comprehend the extensive range of  precious and sem-precious gemstones Namibia is famous for. I knew they had a big diamond industry, but the country is also rich in other minerals; tourmaline, topaz, garnet, rutile, quartz to name a few; Namibia is a gem hunter's paradise.

Monster sized crystals.

A wide range of minerals and gemstones.

You can buy from their extensive and varied offerings. This Herero woman selects and strings a range of gemstones. Her distinctive headwear is folded to simulate the horns of a cattle beast.

WHOA! That's a seriously huge rock. Hmm, wonder how many watches that can power.

Wow that is one big crystal! I love looking at crystals and rocks. It is incredible how they are made.

WOW! That is indeed monster quartz. I had no idea there were clusters this large anywhere in the world.

Wow so many comments! Yeah a huge cluster but the crystals making it up are massive. Those New Age crystal energy lovers will want to hold hands around that.
We had a few hours to kill so wandered in there expecting a few rocks on display and were amazed at that. There are other huge specimens to see. Crystals can be picked up off the ground in many parts of Namibia; locals are everywhere trying to sell them to tourists.

Beautiful... and love her hat... also the one that has the sign "do not touch" sorry but I'd probably be sneaking a touch ... it looks so touchable
