New Canon SX40HS.

Playing around with my new Canon SX40HS Camera. Shoots up to 12 megapixels, although the below are at 9 megapixel. Getting used to the features, but I am very pleased with the detail and clarity at extreme 35 times optical focus.

Thanks Jan. Been playing around with it, not the best professional camera but am happy with what I am getting out of it so far.

There is a whole lot more exciting to a photographer than to get a new camera! Looks like it takes fantastic photos Jim. The brilliant color and clarity are wonderful :)

Jealous here. You can create images like these when you are playing about. You are just soooooo good. I love the close up of your dog, looks just like kemp, my collie

Lovely Pics Jim. Is it big to lug around though or manageable?

Hi Kris, that's the beauty of the Canon ultrazooms, they are very compact for the capabilities they offer. In fact not much bigger than the first digital camera I ever owned. Getting macro to 35 times optical with a camera you can carry in a bulky pocket is very practical for the traveller.

Hi Anna, yep, not too bad. I would like to get a more professional model, with interchangeable lenses but I had to consider how much gear I wanted to carry.

Yep Red, we're gonna get lots of RED photos where we're of to!

Hi Larry. Yeah, just getting to grips with all the features. Has a tracking focus, which I need to fully understand.
