Yesterday's post  The Ballad of Eoghan Ruadh Chulodair mentioned a film "Joyeux Noel", a film about the impromptu Christmas truce soldiers of 3 armies took part in at the end of December 1914. A well documented and acted film I can fully recommend. In the Ballad of Eoghan Ruadh Chulodair I attempted to describe Cille Choirill as a worthwhile travel destination, it's historical background, and the ties to our family tree.
Cille Choirill is the little church depicted towards the start of "Joyeux Noel" when it shows the Scottish village men leaving to go off to battle. The pastor of the church joins up also to look after the men from his community. Here is a clip from the film as he is leading the singing of the theme tune by troops in the trenches.
It's a beautiful song.

Keep watching...there's a bonus!

I watched it Jim, but couldn't hardly hear it so it didn't make a lot of sense to me. Volume turned up full blast on video and my computer (sad face)
