Monday Memory for Blogplicity Group.

My Monday Moment  is dreaming of returning in May, to Namibia, and EHRA Elephant- Human Relations Aid, an organisation working to reduce conflict between locals and elephants, by building rock wall protection around waterpoints so elephants can still drink but not bust down anything, and we sleep on the ground, no tents  in our billion star open air hotel,...and we pay to do all this.

This picture is a great memory! I can feel the brisk morning air with a cup of black coffee (I'm assuming)in hand, getting ready to start your day. Thanks Jim!

I just knew this one would make me stop and stare for ages. :)

Thought it would interest people. The sleeping on the ground, awake for a coffee before the sun fully rises, the desert's night time chill, bleary eyes, stirring for another day's work. And we pay to put ourselves through all that!

Jim, have you written a book on your adventures yet? A memoir collection of these memories? Have you thought about it?

Hi Debra, been upskilling my writing talents to do that. One of the reasons I started this blog is to write about our travel experiences, and at some point in the future, take the best and get them printed up on one of the on-line publishing sites where you only need to pay to have a few copies printed.
Publishing media is changing so fast, that nowadays anyone can be a published author, even if just for your own coffee table. And it's a subject in itself worthy of blogging about. If you think of your grandparents, and theirs, and the further you go back, the less is known about their actual life experiences, a few diaries, a few photos, the odd letter...but everything else is lost forever. Today everyone has a chance now to record forever for their descendants, their everday feelings, experiences, and trauma, joy etc.
I just think we are living in a marvellous age.Never before has any generation been able to write down so much.

I salute you Jim for this! Your adventures were indeed amazing... Being in a billion star open air hotel is definitely no joke... What if? You know stuff like when you are in the wilderness...and be bombarded with hopefully just ANTS! (joking):)

More adventures to come Jorie. We never had to worry about ants there, scorpions though everywhere. You don't want one of them to wriggle in with you to escape the nighttime cold!

It sounds like fun! I have had the opportunity to travel a little and I enjoy learning different cultures and seeing, with my own eyes, what goes on there. I appreciated the visit and your comment added a different perspective. Thanks!
